Fukui prefecture famous for fossils of dinosaurs being excavated, Echizen pottery which is traditional Japanese traditional crafts, Housoku stone that Mitsukuni Mito(Tokugawa) who was general in EDO Period was named, and we call those that combined these three Fukui's are Wakasa Housoku Pottery Dinosaur Series.
From the dinosaur literature, We reproduced the skull and nail of "Allosaurus" as Wakasa Housoku Pottery.
A unique metallic texture was finished in a very beautiful grind.
Currently under the cooperation of the Fukui Prefecture Dinosaur Museum, they supervise our Housoku Pottery that designed the skull of "Fukui Raptor".
Wakasa Housoku Pottery uses Echizen's clay as a base soil and before baking it, Housoku Stone(purple stone) powder formulated as a glaze is applied to pottery. At this moment(Dec, 2017), our cooperate workshop (Yawaragi workshop) is the only one who create this type of pottery. in the world.

Housoku stone is an ore mined in the Wakasa region (south side of Fukui Prefecture), once used as an inkstone.
In the Edo Period (1603~) Obama clan donated this inkstone to the famous temple shrines throughout the country.
and there is a history that it was also prized for the offering to the emperor and Daimyo (Japanese territorial lord) as luxury inkstone.

There are two kinds of rocks, Blue and Red, in Housoku Stone, but Red Stones are used in Wakasa Housoku Pottery.
